Board of directors meeting canceled

The Kanawha County Public Library Board of Directors meeting scheduled for today has canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Call 304-343-4646.

Garden club

The Kanawha Estates Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Pam Burka. Helen Hopkins will serve as co-hostess. The program will be "Gardens of the World." For information, call 304-925-0778.

Neighborhood watch

The Neighborhood Watch meeting for Ward 2 in St. Albans will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, corner of Kanawha Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue. Jason Philabaun is in charge of the meeting. For questions, call 304-767-4874.

Getting fit

Charleston Area Alliance will offer a SUCCESStrategies: Getting Fit at the Workplace event from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at its location, 1116 Smith St. Wellness experts will discuss establishing efficient wellness programs and strategies to improve employees' ability to be active at the workplace. The panel discussion will be led by Dave Harshberger, wellness manager for the Health Sciences Campus at West Virginia University. Other panelists include: Kate Long, creator of the "Try This!" campaign and author of the Charleston Gazette's "The Shape We're In."; Alexis Batausa, health and wellness promoter, Mingo County Diabetes Coalition; and Kasey Russell, Charleston City Council.
