Three dead in suspicious house fire in Wetzel
LITTLETON, W.Va. -- Three people died Monday night in a suspicious house fire in Littleton, police said.
The fire occurred at Box 297 Cliff Run Road, Littleton, Wetzel County, around 9:30 p.m., said State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous in a news release.
The house was engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived on the scene. Homeowners Carmen McDougal, 55, and Michael McDougal, 63, died in the fire. A third person, an adult male, has not been identified, according to the release.
A preliminary investigation by the state Fire Marshal's Office indicates the cause of the fire is suspicious, but a final determination has not been made, according to the release.
