River searched for evidence in Upshur slaying
JACKSON'S MILL, W.Va. -- The West Fork River is being searched for evidence in the 2012 slaying of a Buckhannon man.
State Police Cpl. M.S. Clark said the search is being conducted by State Police and an FBI dive team between Weston and Jackson's Mill in Lewis County.
The body of Joshua Oberg, 29, was found in a shallow grave in a remote area of Upshur County in July 2012.
Robert Eugene Siron III, 31, of Weston pleaded guilty in December to voluntary manslaughter and conspiracy to conceal a body. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. His co-defendants, Jessie Lee Heater, 29, of Buckhannon, and Rodolpho Villagomez "Chino'' Correa, 33, of Buckhannon, are awaiting trial.
