Boil-water advisories issued, lifted

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Athens Water System has issued a boil-water advisory for anyone within the city limits of Athens, including Beckett Hill, Mount Jackson and Pine Hill Park, following a water main break.

The city of Ronceverte has issued a boil-water advisory for all areas within Ronceverte, following a water line break.

Customers in these areas should boil their water for at least one full minute prior to use until further notice.

West Virginia American Water has lifted the boil-water advisory for about 2,000 residential customers in the Northern Putnam County areas of Putnam Union and Derricks Creek Ridge, including Confidence Elementary. The specific streets included in the advisory were: W.Va. Route 34 from Lime Kiln Road in Winfield to Fishers Fork Road in Liberty, Young Road, Wilkie Road, Grandview Ridge Road, Steel Ridge Road, Antioch Road, Scott Ridge Road, Low Gap Road, Williams Road, Manilla Creek Road from W.Va. 34 to Amherst/Plymouth Wildlife Management Area, Bowles Ridge Road, Mount Etna Road, Crooked Ridge Road, Derricks Creek Road from W.Va. 34 to Box 16991, Fishers Fork Road. The advisory was issued after extensive flushing in the area caused a water storage tank to drain.

Mount Hope Water System has lifted the boil-water advisory issued for its water system, which was issued on Jan. 14.
