Oak Hill man charged in sexual abuse investigation

OAK HILL, W.Va. -- State Police on Wednesday arrested an Oak Hill man in connection to the alleged sexual abuse of a child in his care.

David J. Haggerty, 52, was charged with first-degree and second-degree sexual assault, according to a news release issued by State Police Sgt. Michael Baylous.

Haggerty allegedly sexually abused a 13-year-old child staying at his house. He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail on a $75,000 bond.The child has been taken to an advocacy center, according to the release.
