SC library closed for holiday
The South Charleston Public Library, 312 Fourth Ave., South Charleston, will be closed Monday for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Putnam County Parks and Recreation will host a photography class by Laura Moul from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on three Consecutive Tuesdays, Jan. 21, 28 and Feb. 4, in the Commons of Putnam County by the Wave Pool. Kanawha State Forest Foundation and Mary Ingles Trail Blazers will sponsor the 2014 Shirley Schwiezer Winter Walk at 2 p.m. Saturday in Kanawha State Forest. Join Doug Wood for an Ecology Walk in the Woods: "Comparing Kanawha State Forest with a Surface Coal Mine." Meet at the swimming pool area. Hot drinks, hot soup and snacks will be available. Historical society meeting
The Upper Vandalia Historical Society will meet Sunday at the Putnam County Board of Education office in Winfield, located behind the old courthouse, weather permitting.
