Tomblin to help state industry promote ski resorts
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin is turning his attention to West Virginia's ski resorts.
Ski industry representatives will join the governor in Charleston today as he proclaims January as "Learn To Ski and Snowboard Month'' in the state.
Joe Stevens of the West Virginia Ski Areas Association says the governor's proclamation is part of a national promotion aimed at attracting new skiers and snowboarders.
Stevens says the state's resorts experienced a solid turnout for the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend.
