Trooper fatally shot Logan man who pointed gun, State Police say
HARTS CREEK, W.Va -- State Police in Logan County shot and killed a man who allegedly pointed a handgun at them Wednesday.
A trooper responded to the home of 42-year-old Curly Edwards Spry in Harts Creek at about 1:30 p.m., said State Police Capt. Dave Nelson.
State Police dispatchers had received calls of a male homeowner standing outside his house with a handgun, Nelson said.
Spry raised the handgun and pointed it at the arriving trooper in a threatening way, Nelson said. The trooper shot and killed Spry. The incident remains under investigation. Police were on scene Wednesday evening, Nelson said.
