Web Dateline: CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A judge put off sentencing a former Charleston cop until drug treatment options are explored.
David Wayne Reedy, 41, of Nitro, previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. His sentencing was set for Wednesday, but Kanawha Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey reset the sentencing for Feb. 18.
Bailey suggested treatment possibilities through the VA be explored, as Reedy was honorably discharged from the military, according to assistant Kanawha prosecutor Michele Drummond.
Reedy retired from the Charleston Police Department's patrol division in 2003.
He's being held in the South Central Regional Jail. Bailey previously revoked his bond.
