Charleson, W.Va. -- Authorities in South Charleston and Dunbar are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in the Kanawha River near the Dunbar Toll Bridge.
The body was found about 3:30 p.m. today between Kroger and the bridge on the Dunbar side of the river. Dunbar Mayor Terry Greenlee said the partially clothed body was found partly in the river and partly on land. He said she appeared to be a middle-aged white woman.
Greenlee said police from Dunbar, South Charleston and the Kanawha Bureau of Investigation will take part in the investigation.
Greenlee said authorities don't yet know how long the body had been in the river before it was discovered. The woman's identity is not yet known.
