HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- Two Putnam County residents were sentenced to federal prison on Monday for selling oxycodone in Nitro.
Michelle Craig, 34, was sentenced to two years and nine months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Robert C. Chambers in Huntington. James Bennett, 44, was sentenced to two years in prison by Chambers.
Both pleaded guilty last August to aiding and abetting each other in the illegal distribution of oxycodone, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin's office. They admitted that on April 22, 2010, they sold 100 oxycodone pills for $2,300 to a drug informant at the Pilot gas station in Nitro.Agents with the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team also found 66 pills in the pair's car and 188 pills in their Putnam County home.
