CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Cross Lanes man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday for possession of child pornography.
Shawn Lee McMullen, 37, will face supervised release for 25 years after his sentence ends. U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. sentenced McMullen.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin's office, McMullen admitted that he took sexually explicit photographs of two children under the age of 13 at his residence in early May 2013. McMullen left the images on the cell phone he used to photograph the children.
"This defendant's crimes are sickening," Goodwin said. "Monsters like this to be punished severely, and that's exactly what the judge did."
