One person died and I-77 in Charleston was shut down for more than seven hours after a tractor-trailer rolled over early Saturday morning, according to a Metro 911 dispatcher.
The accident happened just after 3 a.m., near the Greenbrier Street exit, and resulted in a leak of diesel fuel. The Interstate reopened just after 10:30 a.m. after rescue crews cleaned up the gas and did a reconstruction of the fatal accident, the dispatcher said.
No other vehicles were involved in the initial accident, although one did hit some debris from the accident, the dispatcher said.
Charleston Police are investigating.
