Mini health fair for women
St. Albans Curves, the University of Charleston and Loop Pharmacy will provide women of all ages with free health screenings from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at the Curves at 64 Olde Main Plaza in St. Albans. The mini health fair will offer blood pressure screenings, heart healthy nutrition plans, cardiovascular exercise programs, body fat analysis, bone density screenings and blood glucose screenings. Diabetes train-the-trainer classes
The West Virginia Medical Institute's Everyone with Diabetes Counties program will provide Train-the-Trainer classes, which certifies people to teach diabetes classes in their communities. Anyone over 18 years of age can participate in the free training. Each class graduate will be certified to train for two years. Classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18, Feb. 25 and March 4 at the West Virginia Medical Institute, 200 Association Drive, Suite 200. Classes will also be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on March 6, 13 and 20 at the Glenwood Retirement Village, 1924 Glenwood Park Road, Princeton.
