Unity of Kanawha Valley will be home to the "Bad to the Bone" karaoke night at 7 p.m. Friday at 804 Myrtle Road. The public is invited to share their talents in a warm, friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and delicious homemade festive treats are available for a small donation. General admission is $2.
Trail club hike
Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a Sunday hike in Wine Cellar Park. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is approximately 3 to 4 miles on a mostly gentle trail with some steep places.
Make It Shine cleanup
The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is accepting registration for the 2014 West Virginia Make It Shine Statewide Cleanup scheduled for April 1-14. The project involves cleanups of rivers, streams, lakes, illegal dumps, parks, playgrounds and school grounds. Trash bags, gloves and disposal fees are provided. Registration deadline is Feb. 28.
