Black history program
Keep Your Faith Corporation, a nonprofit organization focused on helping children and adults overcome reading and spelling difficulties, will sponsor a "Come and Join Us for some ... Black History" program from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Friday at Mary C. Snow West Side Elementary School. For information, call Dural Miller at 304-382-6698.
Open State 4 Kids
Unity of Kanawha Valley will sponsor the next Open Stage 4 Kids! event for performers ages 5 to 15, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Unity, 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads. Hosts will be Ron Sowell and Sky Kershner. Share any talent you would like: play an instrument, sing, dance, tell a joke, show a piece of art, magic, or just talk into a microphone. Nitro First Presbyterian Church, 21st Street, will hold its "Squeakquel" Game Night at 6 p.m. Friday in the church activities building. Food, fun and fellowship will be featured.
Torchbearer Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Lynda Harper, who will present the program along with Peggy Cavender.
