SETH, W.Va. -- Boone County sheriff's deputies are investigating the suicide of a Sherman High School student.
Deputies spent most of Tuesday talking to students and faculty members at the school, Chief Deputy Chad Barker said. They are looking into rumors that the 16-year-old boy was bullied before he committed suicide Monday, he said.
Barker said deputies have not found any clear evidence to support that claim.
"We are not in the business of proving rumors," Barker said. "We are still in the fact-finding stage."
Boone County Superintendent John Hudson said his thoughts go out to the boy's family. The matter is still under investigation and he forwarded questions to Barker.
