Clarksburg quadruple slaying trial rescheduled
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- The trial of a man charged with killing four people in Clarksburg has been pushed back to August.
Sidney Arthur Muller's trial was scheduled to begin April 14.
Media outlets report that Harrison County Circuit Court Judge Thomas A. Bedell granted a request by prosecutors and defense attorneys on Wednesday to delay the trial. Bedell rescheduled the trial to begin Aug. 28.
Muller is charged with four counts of murder. The 27-year-old Fairmont resident is accused of fatally shooting 29-year-old Todd Russell Amos, 26-year-old Christopher Hart, 70-year-old Fred Swiger and his son, 47-year-old Freddie Swiger.
Police say the shootings of Hart and Amos inside an apartment in July 2013 were drug-related. They say the Swigers were bystanders who were delivering newspapers.
