Severe thunderstorm warning issued

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for west central Kanawha, northeastern Lincoln and southwestern Putnam counties until 8:30 a.m. today.

National Weather Service Doppler Radar continued to indicate a severe thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-size hail. This storm was located near Tornado, or 8 miles southwest of Nitro, moving east at 30 mph.

Other locations in the warning include Sod, St. Albans, Alum Creek, Institute, South Charleston and Dunbar.
