Shah and his wife, Indira, are natives of Gujarat, India. Jainism is a religion older than Hinduism, and teaches non-violence, respect for all persons and for different viewpoints on the same subject, and control of desires by striking a balance between material and spiritual needs. The sixth annual Charleston Choir Festival: will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 900 Washington St. E. This festival allows each participating choir to sing two selections that represent their church's denomination. A combined choir benediction will also be offered. This concert is free and open to the public. A light reception will follow. Each choir has paid an entrance donation and a collection will be taken at the performance. All money collected will go directly to the Davis Child Shelter.
