CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston streets will be closed Monday morning in anticipation of the city's Veterans Day Parade.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. Monday at the corner of Kanawha Boulevard and Leon Sullivan Way. It will proceed north on Leon Sullivan, west on Quarrier Street, south on Court Street, and east to Capitol Street.
Members of American Legion Post 20, who are organizing the parade, will hold a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park. Parade participants, friends and family are invited to attend.
Charleston police said Kanawha Boulevard will be closed from Brooks Street to Clendenin Street starting at 7 a.m. Monday, and Quarrier Street will be closed between Leon Sullivan and Truslow Street while the parade moves through town.
Traffic on Virginia Street and the side streets between Leon Sullivan and Truslow will be restricted during the parade. Charleston police will direct traffic at those intersections.
