CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A bighearted round of giving this week will help the Gazette Charities Send-A-Child-To-Camp Fund provide many more children with a summer camp experience this year -- but more is needed to reach our goal and not leave one deserving child behind.
After receiving more than $9,400 this week -- including THF Realty's generous $5,000 gift -- the fund stands at more than $23,000.
THF Realty, the developer of projects such as Dudley Farms Plaza and the Shops at Trace Fork on Corridor G, is a longtime supporter of the camp fund.
A positive experience at camp can make the difference in how a child turns out, THF President Michael Staenberg has said.
Staenberg said he likes the Gazette Charities camp fund because, "You know the money is going where it's supposed to go. I know if I give a dollar, the whole dollar goes there"
Please consider giving to the camp fund this year.
The money you donate goes to help children afford to attend one of the many quality summer camps in our area. Every penny of every donation goes to the kids for camp. The Gazette covers all administrative costs of the fund.
