CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- One of the dedications accompanying this week's list of donors puts it simply: "In honor of all campers -- past, present and future."
And isn't that what the Gazette Charities Send-A-Child-To-Camp Fund is all about? Past campers who hold those summertime memories dear; present campers who are building self-esteem, kindling friendships and having fun; and future campers, who will benefit from the continued vitality of our local camps.
But it all starts with you, the reader. You, the donor. Please help Gazette Charities ensure that not one child is left out when the joy of summer camp begins anew in the coming months.
Maybe you fall into the category of a "past" camper. If so, then those happy memories may just be the best motivation of all to help today's "present" campers and the "future" campers of tomorrow.
Thanks so much to this week's donors, who have pushed the fund's total to more than $7,200. But we still have such a long way to go. Please don't delay. Consider a donation (see donation coupon in the newspaper). Any donation. No amount is too small, and every penny you give will go to help kids attend camp. The Gazette covers all administrative costs of the fund.
