CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston police are looking for a man who robbed the Chase Bank branch at the former Kanawha Mall in Kanawha City on Friday morning.

Police said a white middle-age male told a bank teller that he had a gun and passed a note demanding money at about 9:40 a.m.

The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sgt. Steve Cooper, chief of detectives for the Charleston Police Department, said the man was described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt and a white ball cap.

The suspect was last seen heading east on MacCorkle Avenue in an older-model, dark-colored, four-door sedan with a box-type body.
