State Police interviewed Yong Quing Ren, 46, of Dunbar after they found a .22LR revolver at his residence.
The Charleston office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement informed Trooper M.J. Napier and Trooper K. M. Williams that Ren was wanted by the New York City ICE for aggravated deportation since 1999, according to the State Police.
Ren was arrested for being a fugitive from justice and for being an illegal alien in possession of a handgun, State Police said.
DUNBAR, W.Va. - A Cross Lanes man died in a crash on Washington Street West near Dunbar that shut the road down for nearly two hours.
Jerry Mondy, 67, was killed when his Chrysler Aspen sport utility vehicle left the road in the 4400 block of Washington Street West at about 8:30 a.m., said Lt. Bryan Stover of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department. The road was closed until about 11 a.m.
Prior to the call of an accident, someone called the Kanawha County Metro 911 center and said there was a car swerving all over the road. Stover said Mondy was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was thrown from the vehicle.
Yeager said a neighbor told him the door had been kicked in at the 1229 Leone Lane headquarters sometime Sunday night.
"Somebody knocked out the glass door," Yeager said. The thieves made off with a laptop computer and a stack of campaign signs.
"Those signs are almost $4 apiece, so there's probably $100 in signs missing," he said. Yeager figures the total loss comes to several hundred dollars.
