DUNBAR, W.Va. -- Someone broke into the campaign headquarters of Dunbar Mayor Jack Yeager over the weekend.
Yeager said a neighbor told him the door had been kicked in at the 1229 Leone Lane headquarters sometime Sunday night.
"Somebody knocked out the glass door," Yeager said. The thieves made off with a laptop computer and a stack of campaign signs.
"Those signs are almost $4 apiece, so there's probably $100 in signs missing," he said. Yeager figures the total loss comes to several hundred dollars.
"Lawlessness is alive and well in Dunbar," said Yeager, who was at the police station this morning.
Yeager was appointed last fall to replace former Mayor Roger Wolfe, who was removed from office. Yeager has since decided to run for office to make the job permanent.
Wolfe is also running for re-election.
