RAND, W.Va. -- A man from Rand and a juvenile have been arrested and charged in connection with burglary and robbery at the end of February.
Joseph Whitney Nomar, 18, of Rand, and another juvenile male, have been linked to two burglaries and a first-degree robbery that took place in the 5600 block of Raven Drive, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department.
During the robbery, investigators believe that Nomar and the juvenile threatened a female victim with a firearm while stealing her purse, then allegedly broke into her home a few days later and stole additional items, according to the department.
The investigation is continuing, and additional charges could follow the investigation.
Nomar is being charged with two counts of burglary and first-degree robbery.
The juvenile will be charged with the same crimes as Nomar through juvenile court.
Nomar was placed in the South Central Regional Jail on a $100,000 full surety bond.
