Fayette man charged with multiple sexual assaults

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- A 33-year-old Fayette County man was in jail Friday charged with dozens of counts of sexual abuse.

Christopher Michael Wilson, of Glen Jean, was arrested at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and charged with 40 counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian, 40 counts of first-degree sexual abuse, 10 counts of using a minor to produce obscene matter and two counts of use of obscene matter to seduce a minor, according to a news release issued by Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler.

Fayette County deputies were informed of the alleged sexual abuse of three minor children on July 13, according to the news release. The abuse allegedly took place between October 2004 and June 2009. Those involved are now between the ages of 15 and 17.

Wilson was in the Southern Regional Jail on Friday in lieu of $250,000 bond. Fayette County detectives and officials for the Department of Health and Human Resource's Child Protective Services division continue to investigate.
