FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. -- Two Fayette County residents were killed early Tuesday morning in a single-car crash.

Amantha Arbogast, 18, of Lookout, and Shawn Neal, 23, of Victor, were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight, Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said in a news release.

Kessler said Arbogast was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica, with Neal as a passenger, along U.S. 19 near Milroy Grose Road.

Arbogast lost control of the vehicle and ran into the median on the left side of the roadway, the sheriff said. She overcorrected and went back across the northbound lane before overturning the car, he said.

Kessler said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
