MALDEN, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies recovered the body this afternoon of a Malden man missing since March 7.
Lt. Bryan Stover of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said a gas company employee found the body of Richard McCarty, 42, on a hillside above U.S. 60 about 12:30 p.m. McCarty's family had reported him missing on March 7.
Stover said McCarty appears to have committed suicide.
State Police and sheriff's deputies are investigating.
