CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies are looking for two men believed to be responsible for the Saturday-night robbery of a St. Albans man along Winfield Road just outside the St. Albans city limits.

Deputies said Brian Adkins, 26, of West Hamlin, summoned his cousin, Danny Hitchcock of St. Albans, to the scene at about 9:30 p.m. to borrow money for gasoline.

Shortly after Hitchcock entered Adkins' car, Adkins and his brother, Shane Adkins, 19, began beating Hitchcock in the head and face, and then used a seat belt to restrain him, deputies said. Hitchcock managed to free himself, leave the car, and run a short distance before the Adkins brothers caught him, beat him, and stole his wallet and medication before driving off, deputies said.

Warrants for aggravated robbery have been issued for Brian and Shane Adkins, according to Cpl. J.M. Launi, who urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to call the Sheriff's Department at 304-357-0169.
