CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Two men attacked another inside his Rand home and stabbed him in the chest early Thursday, police reported.
The men were the husband and son of a woman who was staying at the house, police said.
Kanawha County sheriff's deputies responded to a house on Glenville Lane at about 2:30 a.m. and found Rock Hudson Williams holding a blood-soaked towel to his chest, according to a statement from Lt. Sean Crosier.
Williams told police that Charles "Bo" Kenneth Woodson, 58, of Rand, and his son Kenneth Woodson forced their way into his house and attacked him with a knife.
Charles Woodson's wife, Gayle A. Woodson, 49, was asleep in Williams' bed and was awakened by the noise, Crosier said.
All four of them began fighting and suffered some degree of laceration or stab wound, Crosier said.
Charles, Kenneth and Gayle Woodson all fled the scene before police arrived and went to a hospital. Williams was also taken to a hospital, Crosier said. Gayle was stabbed in the arm and Kenneth was also treated for his wounds, Crosier said.
Police found an 18-inch knife with blood on it in Charles Woodson's car. He was arrested and charged with assault during the commission of a felony, nighttime burglary and malicious wounding.
Additional charges may be filed, Crosier said.
