Teen allegedly lures man into mugging in Nitro

NITRO, W.Va. -- A man was robbed at knifepoint in Nitro on Thursday.

According to a criminal complaint on file in Kanawha Magistrate Court, Stephanie Knox, 19, told police she lured Newton Margolis to her apartment at 2535 Third Ave. at about 8 p.m. Thursday.

Once inside the apartment, George Henderson IV, 24, allegedly pulled a knife and demanded the man's wallet and money, said Patrolman H.R. Blake II of the Nitro Police Department. Henderson also lived in the apartment, according to the criminal complaint.

Henderson allegedly emptied the wallet and ran away, Blake said.

Henderson and Knox were later arrested. Henderson was charged with first-degree robbery, and Knox was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, both felonies.

Knox was in the South Central Regional Jail on Friday in lieu of $80,000 bond. Henderson was in the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
