CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- An elderly woman and two children were able to get out of a burning house in Nitro on Sunday.
Nitro firefighters and police responded to a house fire at 4043 40th St. at about 3:30 p.m. to find smoke coming out of the residence, according to Ptl. H.R. Blake II of the Nitro Police Department. The elderly resident and two children were taken to a neighbor's house.
