Barker, who Bryan declined to allow to be interviewed because he works for the Bureau of Prisons, claims Workman put on black leather gloves after handcuffing him to the barracks.

"You thought I was going to let this (expletive) go?" Barker claims Workman said. "You're trying to tear my (expletive) family apart?"

Workman then hit Barker in the face and the ribs, screaming, "Come on you (expletive) Marine. Hit me. ... I'll kill you and get away with it," according to the lawsuit.

Barker "refused to defend himself, believing full well that Workman would either kill him, or use his actions as justification for his use of force," according to the lawsuit.

After beating Barker in the ribs, Workman jumped on top of the bench and put his fingers under the man's neck, twisting and pulling, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit claims he said, "Who's (expletive) my wife, (expletive)?"

Workman then tried to knee Barker in the face and hit him in the head and stomped on his groin area, according to the suit.

Workman then walked away after threatening to kill him again.

Barker wiped blood from his nose onto the shirt and bench, the suit claims. Two other troopers then came into the building and assessed Barker's condition. EMS arrived and examined him. Barker refused transport to the hospital because Sgt. M. Crowder offered to take him there, according to the suit.

The suit states that doctors found Barker had "injuries consistent with having been beaten."

Barker is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and assault on a law enforcement officer. Under the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act, passed in 2004, Barker is allowed to carry a concealed weapon because he is a Bureau of Prisons officer, Bryan said.

Barker also has a domestic battery charge filed against him from his now ex-wife, Ashley Barker. Bryan said Ashley Barker has since requested that the charges against her former husband be dropped and signed an affidavit stating that her allegations against him were not true.
