Three people arrested in connection to
the robbery and beating of a man in Hurricane appeared in Putnam County Magistrate Court this week for their pretrial hearing.
WINFIELD, W.Va. -- Three people arrested in connection to the robbery and beating of a man in Hurricane appeared in Putnam County Magistrate Court this week for their pretrial hearing.
Christina Mae Stover, 19, and Robert Franklin Stover Jr., 23, waived their right to a hearing in magistrate court Thursday. Their cases have been transferred to the county circuit court.
Justin Paxson, 20, had his pretrial hearing last week. His case has also been transferred to circuit court.
Paxson and Christina and Robert Stover are three of four people charged with beating and robbing Corey Smart, 24, and leaving him on the side of Cow Creek Road in Hurricane on Sept. 9.
Roland Leonard Tate II, 23, the fourth person arrested in connection to the robbery, is scheduled to appear in magistrate court on Monday.
All four are being held at the Western Regional Jail on $75,000 bail each.
