WINFIELD, W.Va. -- A man who allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old girl several times was arrested again on Friday, after police say he tried to get the girl to change her story.

Martin Blades, 46, was first arrested on Sept. 14 and charged with four counts each of first-and third-degree assault of a minor, and seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

He was released from jail on Sept. 30 after Putnam County Magistrate Linda Hunt lowered his bond amount from $150,000 to $40,000. The amount was lowered with the stipulation Blades would abide by a domestic violence petition that the girl's mother sought, ordering Blades to have no contact with her daughter.

According to the complaint filed on Friday, the girl's mother told police that Blades was parked across from her house in a store parking lot. The mother told police that Blades saw her other daughter's boyfriend walking down the street, and allegedly told him to tell the girl to change her story about the sexual assault, and gave him his new cellphone number.

Blades was being held in the South Central Regional Jail Friday on a $50,000 cash-only bail.

When Blades was arrested in September, the criminal complaint stated that the juvenile told police she was in love with Blades, and that they had a sexual relationship.

According to the original criminal complaint, police found that the girl received 5,200 text messages and numerous phone calls in August from Blades. In some of the messages, Blades allegedly tells the girl he loves her and referred to her as "baby."
