POCA, W.Va. -- A trailer in Poca was destroyed after catching fire twice on Monday, a member of the Poca Volunteer Fire Department said.

Firefighters were first called to the trailer on Heizer Creek around 2:20 a.m., and were able to put out the blaze and get everyone out safely, firefighter Josh Carr said.

At about 11 a.m., the fire re-kindled, Carr said, and the trailer was destroyed. He said residents were not at home, but firefighters were able to rescue their dog.

"The dog was a Christmas miracle in itself," Carr said. "We heard the dog yelping and found her in the bedroom underneath the bed."

Carr said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
