Putnam deputy OK after wreck, wife says

POCA, W.Va. -- A Putnam County deputy who wrecked his cruiser Wednesday night received minor injuries, his wife said.

 

Deputy Daniel Redka was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington after a single-car accident in Poca.

Emergency 911 dispatchers said Redka was injured along Lineberger Creek Road at about 5 p.m. after crashing his cruiser into a wooded area near Rock Branch Car Wash.

Mud and water from a nearby driveway might have caused the accident, according to firefighters. State Police are investigating.
