WINFIELD, W.Va. -- Putnam County commissioners will ask the state for permission to use money they received to study floodwater in Hometown for engineering work there.
Last year, the county received a $15,000 Community Participation Grant to help pay its portion of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers study to help figure out what was causing the flooding problem in Hometown.
County Manager Brian Donat said Tuesday that the county was able to pay their portion of the study with in-kind contributions, and hopes the $15,000 can be used for engineering work, the Corps study outlined. At the last commission meeting, Qk4, headquartered in Louisville, Ky., was chosen to perform the engineering work.
