WINFIELD, W.Va. -- Putnam County Schools will hold summer kindergarten registration next month for children who will be 5 years old prior to Sept. 1.

Children can be registered from 8:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Aug. 7 and 8 at Mountain View Elementary in Scott Depot, and at the same times Aug. 9 at George Washington Middle School in Eleanor.

To register, an appointment must be made by calling 304-586-0500 ext. 1178. Parents must bring their child's official birth certificate, immunization records, a physical examination form and social security card.

For children who have not had a doctor's examination, school personnel will screen for vision, speech, and hearing.
