WINFIELD, W.Va. -- A Buffalo man charged with raping his daughter from the time she was 6 until she was 10 accepted a plea deal Friday on the eve of his trial date in Putnam Circuit Court.
Donnie Dwayne Bailes, 44, pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in the first- degree. His trial was supposed to begin Monday.
Bailes faces 5 to 25 years in prison and 50 years of supervised release, according to assistant Putnam County prosecutor Steve Connolly. He will be sentenced at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 in front of Putnam Circuit Judge Robert Leslie.
After Bailes pleaded guilty Friday, Leslie immediately revoked his bond.
Bailes faced charges of incest, first-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent or guardian or person in trust.
Last year, Bailes' daughter told investigators her father had molested her and forced her to have oral and anal sex several times while they were in his home, according to a criminal complaint.
The girl visited Bailes every other week. In 2007, when she was 6, he began raping her, the complaint states.
Bailes assaulted the girl almost every time she visited his home, the girl had told investigators. She estimated Bailes forced her to have oral sex at least 20 times.
Bailes was also charged with sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in his home last year. The girl was sleeping on a couch in Bailes' home when he approached her, kissed her on the lips, and began touching her, the complaint states.
