REDHOUSE, W.Va. -- Members of the military can purchase groceries at discounted prices this weekend at the Eleanor National Guard Armory, 111 Army Navy Drive, Red House.

The West Virginia National Guard is sponsoring the sale, which will feature meat, cleaning supplies, personal care items, canned goods, snacks, pet food, water, sports drinks and a variety of non-perishable goods.

Current and retired military members from any branch of service that have a valid military identification card are eligible to shop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the National Guard.

Military dependents with a valid dependent identification card may shop without their sponsor, according to the release.

Similar events, made possible by the National Guard and the Defense Commissary Agency, will take place at armories throughout the year around the state.
