WINFIELD, W.Va. -- A general membership meeting for the Putnam County Farmers' Market will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the Putnam County Courthouse in Winfield.

Interested vendors are encouraged to attend and applications for meat and produce vendors will be available at the meeting, according to a news release from the market.

Vendors must have a garden or farm in West Virginia within a 50-mile radius of the courthouse in Winfield, grow or produce their own products and register with the Putnam health department.

Meat vendors must adhere to state Department of Agriculture regulations and items must judged for acceptance, the release states.

The price for membership is $25 for an individual and $35 per family.

The Putnam Farmers' Market also offers a "community" booth, available free of charge at each market, to any local organization that has information or products that relate to the market's agricultural mission, according to the release.  Each group must apply and be approved by the market committee.
