Stephanie Bea Horn, 22, of Scott Depot, and Lewis Day, 27, of Hurricane, were both arrested and charged with first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. Warrants have been issued for Janel Salmons and Elvis Russell on the same charges, according to a criminal complaint filed in Putnam County Magistrate Court by Putnam County Sheriff's Detective Shawn Johnson.

On Dec. 9, police say, Horn and Salmons picked up Holly Price and Kevin McCallister at Price's house on Putnam Avenue in Hurricane.

As they were driving over a hill on Fletcher Road, Salmons told Horn to turn around and take her back to the top of the hill so she could use the bathroom, the complaint states.

After about 10 minutes, when Horn returned to the car, she was with Russell and Day, according to the complaint.

Russell pointed a silver revolver at Price and McCallister and ordered them out of the car, the complaint states. Police say Day then grabbed McCallister by the throat and pushed him to the ground and began beating him.

Salmons and Horn searched Price's purse, according to the complaint, while the two men searched McCallister's pockets.

The suspects asked Price for her cell phone, but she told them she dropped it in the leaves, according to police.

Russell allegedly told McCallister and Price to walk into the woods until he told them to stop, the complaint states.

Finally, the suspects got in the car and left the scene, according to police. Price, the complaint states, had lied about dropping her cell phone and called a friend to pick her and McCallister up.

According to the complaint, the friend took McCallister and Price to CAMC Teays Valley, where McCallister remained in the hospital for five days because of head trauma.

Price told police she knows all of the suspects from previous friendships.

Horn and Day were taken to the Western Regional Jail on $200,000 bail.
