Missing dog returned to Liberty woman

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Vicki Arthur's dog was returned Tuesday morning.

After being gone since Jan. 22, Puddles, a Yorkshire terrier, was reunited with Arthur after an Elkview woman got wind of Arthur's plea that someone bring him back.

"The lady called and said 'I think I may have your dog,'" Arthur said. "She sent me a picture and sure enough it was him."

Although Puddles looked a bit frail, Arthur said he was doing well.

"When we got him home he ran to where all his toys are and grabbed one and started playing," the Liberty resident said.

Police are still searching for Arthur's former daughter-in-law, Cassandra Danyel Arthur, 26, of Charleston.

Police plan to charge her with grand larceny. They say they have her on camera and have interviewed witnesses that said she first tried to sell the dog but eventually gave him away at the IHOP in Kanawha City.
