Unopposed races

In Kanawha County, Democrats Kent Carper (county commissioner) and John Rutherford (sheriff) and Republicans Stephen Dwayne Snead (county commissioner), Mark Plants (prosecutor) and Carol Fouty, Dianna Graves, Bob Keller and Mike Sisson (magistrate) had no opposition on the ballot. No Democrat filed to run for prosecutor, and no Republican filed to run for sheriff. In Putnam County, Democrats Lee Casto (county commissioner), Bud Lett (sheriff) and D.W. "Peachie" Arthur (assessor), Putnam County Republicans Andy Skidmore (county commissioner), Mark Sorsaia (prosecutor) and Sherry Troyer Hayes (assessor) and Board of Education members Sam Sentelle and Jack Coyner had no opposition on the ballot. No Democrat filed to run for prosecutor or magistrate.
