Marmet man faces sex-crime charges, held on $1 million bond

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A Marmet man accused of committing multiple sex crimes in the 1980s and '90s is being held on a $1 million full surety bond.  

Audie Merle Peters, 48, is charged with three counts of incest, three counts of first-degree sexual assault; three counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian; and one count of first-degree sexual abuse.

State Police arrested Peters Wednesday in Kanawha County after warrants were issued in Lincoln County. According to court papers, the alleged incidents occurred in Lincoln County between 1985 and 1999.

Kanawha County Magistrate Kim Aaron set Peters' bond at $1 million. He is being held at South Central Regional Jail.
