RAND, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who tried to rob a man in Rand early Wednesday.
According to Lt. Bryan Stover, two men went to a home in the 5700 block of Raven Drive at about 3 a.m. and knocked on the door. According to the 60-year-old resident, he opened the door to see two men pointing guns at him.
Stover said the two men forced their way inside the house. He said the victim's dog then started barking at the pair.
Stover said both men shot the dog, then ran away. He said the robbers were unable to take anything from the victim.
Stover said the victim was not hurt. He described his assailants as short in stature and wearing layers of dark clothing. Both had something over their faces.
Stover said the dog ran away after being shot. He did not know the extent of its injuries or if had been found.
