CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police have arrested a suspect they say shot a 14-year-old boy in the legs Monday evening.
Charles Sweatte, 18, of Charleston, faces malicious wounding charges after he allegedly shot the teenager in the legs Monday evening at a home in the 1400 block of Lewis Street on Charleston East End, according to Sgt. Eric Hodges with the Charleston Police Department.
The 14-year-old did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Neighbors who lived across the street previously told the Gazette there were no adults home at the time of the shooting and that a few teenagers had run away from the home when police showed up.
